The character of the journey.
• A guided snowshoeing experience that does not require previous technical snow skills.
• Sethan village and the Hampta Valley landscape in deep winter.
• Basic equipment instruction, safe pacing and locally informed route choices.
• Possible views towards the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar ranges.
• A focused one-day activity rather than a compulsory multi-night lodge package.
• A flexible turnaround point chosen for the day's snow and weather conditions.
For active beginners, friends, couples and families with participants who can walk for several hours in cold, uneven, snowy terrain. No previous snowshoeing experience is required, but proper winter layers and suitable footwear are essential. Deep snow and altitude make walking more demanding than an ordinary trail. The guide may shorten or change the route. Anyone with mobility limitations or relevant health concerns should discuss suitability before booking.
03
A clear day-by-day view, with room for the mountains to shape the experience.
Meet the guide in Sethan, receive a basic introduction to snowshoe technique and safety, then head out onto the day’s safest snow route. When conditions permit, the walk can follow the traditional direction towards Chikka, the summer shepherd meadows at approximately 10,100 ft. Expect several hours on snow with views towards the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar ranges. Stop for the included packed lunch before returning to Sethan. The exact route, turnaround point and duration remain at the guide’s discretion according to snow depth, ice, visibility, weather and group ability.
Sethan's winter landscape is part of the experience: a quiet mountain village above Manali, with forest, slopes and the approach towards Hampta Valley nearby. The guide explains how snowshoes fit, how to walk and turn, and why slow, steady movement is important on climbs and descents. The original YoloO outing followed the direction of Chikka, a summer shepherd meadow at around 10,100 feet, with views towards the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar ranges in clear weather. Today's route is chosen for the actual snowpack, visibility and group ability, with time for photographs, water breaks and the planned packed lunch. If conditions deteriorate, the guide may turn back earlier or use an alternative loop. Accommodation, bonfires, pizza evenings and other elements of the old three-day stay are not included in this one-day booking.
